I found Claudette after I got the part of Private Lewis in Layon Gray’s play “Soldiers Don’t Cry.” I was freaked out because not only was this my first play but I had to perform it in a Southern Louisiana accent! I watched movies and bought the Accents for Black Actors CD but I needed personal attention. Claudette was the most affordable so I emailed her. She sounded so caring and professional I decided to hire her. I sent her the script and she did research with people from Louisiana. She had gone through my script and phonetically changed the words to what I needed to say. She also recorded the session so I could listen over and over (ova and ova!) She was kind and passionate about accents. I loved working with her.
