I’m a firm believer that the universe is always working in our favor and gives us what we need. I’m putting my seal of approval on Claudette Roche. People tell you they are good at what they do, but seriously, she is AMAZING at what she does. It’s great to see someone who LOVES what they do and is good at it. I walked in less than confident and walked out holding my head up high and speaking in my new West African Dialect.
On day 2 of shooting, Between Kings and Queens, the Nigerian actor who plays Nanna, was on set. I greeted him in my new African Dialect. Later he came to me and said he thought my accent was real. He thought I was from some part of Africa! He was shocked when I dropped the accent. He had no idea! I was so happy.
