Claudette was pivotal in my preparation for my project, ZOS, filmed in Bosnia and Canada. I play a Chetnik who speaks English with a thick Serbian accent. I didn’t know what the difference was with Russian until Claudette started speaking to me as though she only knew Serbian. She is patient, specific and so committed to the entire process that she never let me slip into “good enough”. I knew if she was happy, I hit it. I wasn’t entirely sure of myself until I arrived in Bosnia only to hear everyone sounding like me. I don’t know how you do it my darling, but your ear is perfect and your relentless pursuit of making me a better performer inspires me.

I have never felt so confident, with a complete handle on an accent from the inside out in a week of working with Claudette. She makes learning so much fun, that you forget you are actually working rather then having lunch with a good friend. The next time I am in need of an accent, I will definitely call on Claudette Roche.

So here’s an ‘Essex Girl’, who lived in Canada and is now posing as an American in LA. Peculiar, but a very similar path to my own, having been born and raised in London, moved to Toronto when I was 18 and now working here in Hollywood. For me, Claudette’s perfect. She totally understands the route of my traveled accents. She hears my Canadian coming out when I talk American and especially when my British tries its hardest to poke through everything, she catches it all.
I make a living playing characters and doing accents. For years I had tried to achieve a US Non-Regional Accent, went to numerous coaches, bought tapes, tried everything and in all honesty I was crap, UNTIL I met my “Essex Girl!” She doesn’t allow me to get away with anything, which I need and love. I can’t BS her. (Again, something I make money at) Claudette simply IS THE ONE. She’s hilarious, she’s a perfectionist, as am I and we achieve what we need to achieve.
Oh and by the way, if the day before shooting a Full Guest Star role on “Trust Me” you need to learn a Norwegian accent, when it’s not even on your resume, Claudette will not only teach you the accent, but the language too!

I worked with Claudette on a French accent for this film I just completed. And not only did I need the accent, I had to speak a little bit of the language. Luckily, Claudette speaks French and was able to translate the English dialogue for me into French and make sure I sounded authentic. She was just great to work with; professional and fun, too.

“Got an audition for Days Of Our Lives, they wanted an Irish accent. I asked my guru, Carolyne Barry, for a referral on a dialect coach. She blessed me with Claudette’s number. When I called her, we both spent the conversation in Irish accents. I knew this was the coach for me.
