“Got an audition for Days Of Our Lives, they wanted an Irish accent. I asked my guru, Carolyne Barry, for a referral on a dialect coach. She blessed me with Claudette’s number. When I called her, we both spent the conversation in Irish accents. I knew this was the coach for me.
The session was amazing and very productive. When I slipped into my American accent, Claudette said in an Irish accent, “I can’t understand you.” Her knowledge of accents is extensive. We didn’t just work on dialect; motivation and blocking choices were worked out, as well.
The show cast me in a recurring role as Murphy. The producer asked the Casting Director, “Do you think Brian can do an American accent?” What a testimonial of the quality of the work Claudette and I did together. “
